Mills River Park opens at dawn and closes at dusk.
Park Restrooms are Open Seven Days a Week 6:30 am - 7:30 pm.
Amenities include a 1.2 + multi-use trail, dog park, playground with sunshade, swings, restroom facilities, picnic shelter, tennis/pickleball courts, handicapped accessible fishing pier, and canoe/kayak launch.
The picnic shelter has a capacity of 96 individuals at 16 picnic tables. Electricity and water are available. The shelter may be reserved no more than 6 months in advance, for a fee of $25 per hour with a 2-hour minimum. To reserve the shelter, please bring a completed application to Town Hall with payment. Only cash or check is accepted. Credit or debit cards are not. A copy of your driver's license will also be requested.
The handicapped accessible fishing pier was built in cooperation with the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission. It can be reached via a concrete sidewalk that connects the existing paved path to the pier structure. The canoe/kayak launch access is only for non-motorized watercraft and is a step down type of launch.
